Tips for optimal viewing of a PDF on your PC

While PDF's normally open up for viewing in web browsers (and can be viewed in full screen with some tweaks), using the Adobe Acrobat Reader on your PC will give you a more optimized experience. Here are tips for doing just that.

Download the file and read it on your PC

Instead of just clicking on the link to a PDF (and having it open automatically in your browser), right-click on the link and choose Save Target As. Save the file to somewhere convenient to find (Desktop, My Documents, etc).

Now, with the file saved on your PC, go to that location and double-click on the file. It will open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Hold down the Ctrl key and press the L key and the viewer will go to full screen mode, with the PDF fit to screen. While not to scale, the image below shows how it will appear.

Obviously, the larger your monitor, the larger the PDF will appear on your screen.

There are several ways you can choose to navigate through pages:

Need to zoom in on something? Hold down Ctrl and use your + and - keys to zoom in and out!

When you are finished viewing, press esc to go exit out of full-screen mode.
